About Us

     La Carreta Mexican Imports is a mother-daughter-owned Mexican imports business in San Antonio, Tx. We strive to bring forth the beauty of Mexican artwork handcrafted by local artists in Mexico by providing authentic artisan products to our customers. 

     Founded in 1985, Ana Sanchez immigrated from Mexico City to San Antonio and started a roadside business with her family selling Mexican dresses. Her focus was to provide a source of income for her family. Years later, after the birth of her daughter, she became highly motivated to invest more into her roadside business. By listening to the needs of her customers, in February 2000, Sanchez founded La Carreta Mexican Imports and expanded her inventory by adding Talavera pots, concrete statues, iron sculptures, and other miscellaneous items to the business.  

     La Carreta Mexican Imports was designed to provide unique and authentic artisan products to shoppers in San Antonio. We want to give customers the opportunity to step into another setting and feel the unique cultural experience when shopping for products. Each item is handmade with love, care, and tradition. We believe that by working directly with artisans from Mexico we are supporting communities, hard work, and talent. We are devoted to preserving the traditions of Mexican culture to teach and pass down to future generations.
